Dunleavy OK with use of microphones
Count Coach Mike Dunleavy as a proponent of the league's new rule to fit coaches with microphones during some nationally televised games.
"I can give you different kinds of reasons why you could be against it, if you wanted to be against it," Dunleavy said. "But none of them are going to be something that is going to keep me from being effective in doing my job."
The NBA will attach microphones to coaches before and throughout games, and post cameras in locker rooms in an effort to offer fans a complete experience.
Players can also accept requests to be fitted with the microphones.
Point guard Brevin Knight was a little skeptical.
"As long as they are ready to hear what's being said, I have no problem with it at all," Knight said. "But you are going to hear a lot.
"Everybody wants the fans to be a little closer to the game and get a feeling for the game, but there are some things that should be left for us. I think people see enough to get a feel for what we do. Business and Fortune 500 companies don't mike up their heads and leadership to see what they talk about every day."
The Los Angeles Clippers returned from the road to find a new addition, one they envision will immensely help the team.

The team installed at its practice facility an Alter-G trainer, a treadmill that evolved from NASA technology that reduces body weight during exercise.
Elton Brand and Shaun Livingston will soon start using the machine in an effort to reduce weight on their lower-body injuries while they rehabilitate.
The Phoenix Suns acquired the treadmill, which debuted two years ago, when Amare Stoudemire was injured, and the Washington Wizards used it to help Gilbert Arenas.

Dunleavy said that Sam Cassell, who sat out his sixth game because of a strained calf, would accompany the team for the upcoming trip but probably is not healed enough to play.
Veteran forward Aaron Williams sat out against Miami because of a death in his family and is scheduled to rejoin the team in New Jersey.
Forward Tim Thomas suffered a jaw contusion early in the third quarter and did not return until the fourth.
After scoring 10 points in the Los Angeles Clippers' win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, forward Ruben Patterson did not play against Miami.
Dunleavy said he favored the matchup of the bigger Paul Davis, who scored 10 points on five-for-six shooting Sunday.
