Former New Mexico Lobo J.R. Giddens agreed in principal to a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics on Thursday.
Giddens was selected as the 30th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. The terms of the contract have not been disclosed, but a source close to the situation told KRQE's Van Tate that Giddens did really well.
The NBA has a rookie salary scale and the NBA Players Association lists the salary for the 30th selection as $797,600 for year one and $857,400 for year two.
The former Lobo was voted Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Year in his senior season.
